a reversible waist belt, cut from a butter soft 1.3mm washed and tumbled vegetable tanned albino culatta leather. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and firm temper.
the belt features a large hand forged iron sickle to the front which acts as a secondary fastening for easy removal. the sickle is covered in a layer of forge scale that will slowly flake away over time, ensuring a constant evolution of the hardware, creating an array of rusted nuances that will in turn react with the leathers vegetable tannins.
deconstructed panels feature a slight taper from the front to the rear and are hand stitched with our adaptation of the overlock stitch in a 0.65mm hand waxed japanese leather thread.
the versatile belt is soft to the touch allowing for easy movement when worn and can be worn with the subdermal cordovan panels on the exterior or flipped for a more formal occasion.
a hand forged double button fastening in either a culatta leather or .925 oxidised sterling silver are attached via a noose method ensuring that the interior button is pulled flush when the exterior button is fastened to avoid discomfort. the unique button fastening allows for the button holes to be visible on the exterior or wrapped round the interior.
each piece comes in a hand made calf leather package.
