March Mortem («The Funeral March» or «The Last Gift») is somber, sculpted, and ornamented just like the «Ad Alterum» collection itself.
The dress is entirely handmade, on a lace base. The bow is textured by embroidery with thin golden threads, encoding the «itinerary» of the last creator’s meeting with Anastasia.
«March Mortem is the dress of the mystical initiatic journey into the eternal praise. The sequin centers of the flowers on March Mortem derive from Immaculata Conceptio. However, in March Montem they are black, and the branches to which they are attached are fragile. I recreated Anastasia’s last present - the gift of prophecies, received on our last promenade among wooden crosses, walking from the cemetery exit to the place of our first meeting.»
