Our Ruby Kimono Jumpsuit is cut from two different kimonos for a flattering shape and a unique feel. The top is made from a Meisen kimono and the bottom is made from a Tsumugi kimono, with pockets at the side to accentuate an already flattering silhouette.
Artisans who created Meisen kimonos were inspired by the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements in Japan during the Taisho and Showa periods.
Tsumugi fabric is a highly prized and humble silk woven from floss remaining in the silkworm cocoon after the full threads have been removed.
All of our kimonos are vintage, and as such any marks or oddities within the fabric are all part of the garment's story & history.
