Description: IRO IRO presents Baniyaan jacket. The nehru jacket features handwoven zero waste fabric with prussian blue side panels for comfort. Made from organic dye, the jacket features a woven baniyaan or tank top from extra weft weaving technique, exhibiting feelings of familiarity and nostalgia.
Material Details:
Rainfed Kala Cotton - This jacket is made from deadstock rainfed kala cotton, which requires no pesticides to grow.
Textile Waste - The extra weft motif on the jacket is created from textile waste sourced from export houses (100% biodegradable).
In the making of this garment, we saved:
500 grams of textile waste
12.5 kg of CO2 emissions
3000 liters of water
Supported the livelihoods of 2 artisans for 5 days
