The Design:

The Staghorn Viper Blazer is inspired by the Viper crawling on the Little Prince’s Torso convincing him that his venom will set him free from his shell. The blazer is patterned after a doctor’s coat in relevance to the career path that Jann’s (the designer’s) parents wanted him to take as an adult. In Jann’s story being the perfect academically-over-achieving son was his shell, and the venom of creativity set him free.

The Materiality:

The Staghorn Viper Blazer's shell is made from treated and fused reclaimed knitting textile-waste and is lined with treated and reclaimed cotton. The viper is hand-knitted from reclaimed poly-blend yarn.

The Eco-sustainability:

The Staghorn Viper Blazer is made from 100 % rescued textile waste materials. The knitting and cotton were rescued from the same textile-waste facility where industry factories dispose their damaged, rejected and left-over materials just behind the designer’s residential village. The fabrics were treated through handwashing and sun-drying. The Staghorn Viper Embellishment was hand-knitted from reclaimed deadstock yarn. The blazer based was sewn together using a non-electric mechanical machine.

The Maintenance:

The Staghorn Viper Blazer can be hand-washed since it has been treated to avoid shrinking and losing shape; however spot cleaning and dry-cleaning is best to avoid possible deformity of the handsewn viper. It cannot be spanned in a dryer or tumble dried.

It is best for it to be stored hanged inside a suit-bag with silica gels.
