Ra was conceived as a result of a shared love for fashion and an appreciation and understanding of strong design between its Founder and Creative Director.
Tina Arora, Founder & Creative Director- A qualified lawyer, Tina is an alumni of King’s College, London. She has previously worked as a corporate lawyer with AZB & Partners, Mumbai. An academic at heart with a strong work ethic she has a love for books and fashion, and aims to channel her experience to create a thoughtful brand, that - while staying relevant, consciously builds a community.
East Zimik, Creative Director- Originally from Manipur; Zimik began his career at Manish Arora. He has since artistically contributed to various designer labels, among them being Hemant and Nandita and Gaurav Gupta. A nature aficionado, he believes that fashion is a harbinger of change - a sentiment reflected in his design.
Ra values the importance of individual style; our designs aim to find a way into the closet of any woman who shares our values and are not limited by age, size, professions and ethnicity etc. Ra speaks to every woman. It is feminine at the same time edgy. Its cuts seek to accentuate while keeping the wearer comfortable and in their own. Our vision is to become a tastemaker and create a new experience when it comes to wearing luxury.
About The Collection:
The Orchid is from where our story begins – on tree stumps in the woods of Manipur, vibrant orchids bloom in bursts of yellow. Named the Urei, which translates to the flower that grows on wood, an organic philosophy of co-dependence is what inspired the motif for our debut collection.
