This Koori coat is made of hand-spun and handwoven fabrics from Mali, hand dyed and decorated with natural pigments. Koori collection by Coloriage aims at promoting traditional techniques of processing cotton in West Africa, and at supporting the communities still practicing them. According to local traditions, the energies of natural elements composing the fabrics are absorbed from those who wear them, and every mark on the fabric stands as the symbol or as the trace of animals and presences protecting the community. This coat was designed at Coloriage Free Fashion School in Rome, Italy, and handcrafted by refugee and migrant tailors. Every coat is either one of a kind or made in limited edition.
